ScreenPopSample deployment not on the finesse server

Hello,

I'm trying to deploy the ScreenPopSample gadget on my own web server .

I deployed the deployed under IIS on the web server following the documentation.

I'm using Cisco Finesse UCCX.

The port 8080 and 443 are opened between the web server and the Cisco Finesse server.

I added the Screepop url to the desktop layout (supervisor):http://WebServerIPAddress:8080/ScreenPop.xml

I'm struggling with the the following error:

org.apache.http.conn.ConnectTimeoutExcepti org.apache.http.conn.ConnectTimeoutException: Connect to WebServerIPAddress:8080 timed out

What can be the cause of this error please?

Thanks.

Hi,

As far as I can remember, the gadgets load from the client side. The layout itself is stored on the Finesse server, but the client actually loads up all the gadgets.

Thanx,

Denise

Hi,

If you go to http://WebServerIPAddress:8080/ScreenPop.xml on your browser that you use to login the agent, are you able to access the XML? Or do you get a 404? Make sure that the client can communicate with the WebServerIPAddress.

Thanx,

Denise

Hello Dekwan,

Why is the client that should communicate with the WebServerAddress ?

I thought the XML Desktop Layout runs on the Finesse server not the client, right ?

This means that the gadget website should be accessible from all clients running the agent.

Thanks a lot !

Hello dekwan,

I checked and I can go to http://WebServerIPAddress:8080/ScreenPop.xml on your browser that you use to login the agent.

I still have exactely the same error

Is there any other way to investigate please ?

Thanks

Hmm. Where are you seeing that error? On the webserver logs or on the browser's console?

The only other thing I can think of is mixed content, but I would think the error would not be a connection time out. I am going to assume that if you use the 3rdpartygadget webserver on the Finesse server to host your gadget (https://developer.cisco.com/docs/finesse/#!enable-or-reset-3rdpartygadget-account), this is not an issue.

Thanx,

Hello,

I see the error in the Finesse desktop tab created for the gadget (see picture attached).

I also attached a sceenshot of the desktop xml layout.

thanks,

Mounir

Hi,

Did you try to change your gadget url to using https? This way you can rule out the mixed media.

Thanx,

Denise
