I am upgrading a UCCX system from 12.5 SU3 to 15.
In the instructions, it says before you upgrade, ensure that the VM type is open-vm-tools, and to use the switch command if not.
But then post-upgrade, it says to go to the Guest VM tools and Install/Upgrade VMware tools.
Are these steps necessary if I'm already running the most recent version of VMware tools?
This is going to incur another outage.

I think that the post upgrade note is unfortunate in the verbiage as if you have switched to open VMware tools you would not need to maintain the VMware tools any longer.

Hi, not your exact issue, but you might find this of note, where they say "it is highly recommended to switch to open-vm-tools" even in version 12.5?

I've switched to open-vm-tools and have upgraded to 15 with no issues.
Skipped the post-upgrade steps for using vSphere to upgrade the tools.
