UCCX 5 DRS restore fail

Hi Everybody,

Our current objective is to backup the DRS from the old UCCX 5, and restore it to VM and do the test upgrade to UCCX 10

- current version : UCCX 5.0(2)SR01_Build053
- we have done the DRS backup from the "Old uccx" successfully
- we have fresh installed an UCCX502 on VM
- we can successfully login the UCCX5 GUI on VM and start the fresh restore

When we try to DRS restore on the new uccx server, it shows "restore error" (screen shot has been attached)
- it seems the "DB edition" are different? because old one is using SQL2K, the new one is using MSDE?

Also, I can't find any documents about UCCX version 5 in Cisco.com

Anybody can help and know the problem ?

Thanks in advance
Sam

Hi

The install guide is here for 5.0(2): http://www.cisco.com/c/dam/en/us/td/docs/voice_ip_comm/cust_contact/contact_center/crs/express_5_02/installation/guide/crs502ig.pdf

Note page 2-3 - MSDE is installed by default, but you can install full SQL. They're the same thing, but MSDE has various limitations on performance and DB size. You can't restore if the edition doesn't match, as potentially you may run into the DB size limit or other limit. If I recall correctly you got a CD with full SQL supplied with the CCX 5.0 media kit.

If you can find that, then good.. if not, you could just upgrade MSDE to SQL using any old SQL 2000 CD. You'll get SQL with the old Windows Unity product, or if your company has a Microsoft practice someone there could help you out... or use your imagination, if it's only a temp VM for upgrade purposes there are lots of ways to get hold of such software.

Regards

Aaron
