Hi to all,
Need some pointers to do the following:
Have 1 server in production running uccx 7.0 (1)express.
Have built a second server running uccx 9.0.
I need to migrate everything from the prod server to the new one.
Can i backup and restore to the new server?
- How do i point the agent desktop to connect to the new server instead of the old prod one?
What's the risk of inplace upgrade from 7.0 (1) to 9.0? Rollback options?
I would appreciate any information or help on this.
Thank you,
Amina.

I recently had to upgrade from 7.x on an MCS server to 9.x on a UCS server. It can be a pain. What we ended up doing was taking a backup using DRS from 7.x, restoring it to a [not sanctioned by Cisco] 7.x install on the UCS server, and then upgrading to 8.6 [necessary in the upgrade path], and then to 9.x. The uprade kept the original DRS restore configurations and all was well.

Doing this also leaves your 7.x server intact in the event of a rollback, however it should be noted that all of the settings from the 7.x install must be identical between the new and old servers in order for DRS to work properly.
DHCP, IP Address, NTP, Host Name, all of it has to be the same.
