UCCX specific OS

hey everyone...I am trying to install UCCX 7.x on a previous MCS 7800 series server that had CUCM installed. I have been given conflicting info from Cisco regarding the OS that is needed to run UCCX. Is the server OS UCCX specific?

I tried loading Server 2003 Standard and the TAC engineer told me that it would not work due to some UCCX specific services not being installed.

Can any confirm or deny?

Thank you.

Brandon

It's a video of the installation process I made a couple years back

for UCCX 7.x with the Cisco OS as well as a vanilla windows

installation.

Again, I just want to state that vanilla 2003 might work but is not

supported by TAC.

Re: UCCX specific OS

Officially, you need to use the Cisco OS installation media that

should have been shipped with the kit. Unofficially, and I do NOT

recommend this, this is not TAC supported, you can install vanilla

windows 2003 but you must create the C:\WINNT directory and copy your

C:\Windows\java to the C:\WINNT directory. If you fail to do this you

won't get jtapi sync and a broken platform.

Again, I do not recommend you do this in a production environment. It

is not supported and should be treated as such.

That said, good luck!

Let me know if you run into any issues.

Oh, you will also need to install IIS separately before you attempt to

install the UCCX software.

Should be good to go otherwise.
