Upgrade from UCCE 10.5 to 11.5, is resizing needed ?

Hello community,

We are planning to move from UCCE 10.5 to version 11.5.

We are aware of the upgrade process, however, shall we resize our solution to get rid of some nodes ?

I mean version 11.5 should offer more capacity, should we revisit the system architecture that we defined when we first put in place 10.5 ?

Thank you for your help.

You can definitely re-visit your architecture, but it's hard for us to make suggestions without knowing what you have. There are some things we can suggest without knowing what you have...
If you have several (4+) CVP servers, you can look into downsizing that since you now get 3000 ports. We upgraded a large call center last year from 10.5 and shrinked their CVP footprint from 40 to 20.
If you're using an ISR for VXML, you can virtualize that with Virtual Voice Browser
If you're using an SRE module for CUSP, you can virtualize that with Virtual CUSP
You can consolidate your PGs, but have to know what you're running for PGs
Also... why 11.5? Go 11.6

Thank you for your insight Omar, that helps! We are using Virtual Voice Browser indeed, regarding the version that we are going to move to, it's not decided yet, it could be 11.6 or 12.0n, discussions are taking place.

So this would definitely be a tech refresh... it's important to know if your hardware will be TRC or spec based. Also important to know if you're within the reference design or not as that does change limitations.
