Dear all,
We are planing to upgrade our current IPCC platform from UCCE 7.0 TO UCCE 8.5
we are doing a fresh installation, so we need to backup our current HDS database and AWDB databases, can we export this to the new HDS (ucce 8.5) after the fresh install , we know that the database schema is not the same as in 7.0. Will it create an impact after we do an export , can we retrieve all the tables (awdb ,hds & loggerdb) successfuly with out any errors.??
Appreciate your valuable advice..

As you might be aware that there are two type of upgrade
- Common Ground (CG) Upgrade
Upgrades a database “in place”
- Technology Refresh (TR) Upgrade
Transfers a database from one host to another and upgrades the database on the destination system
So if you do a fresh install I assume you are doing a TR upgrade you cannot simply copy the old hds db and awdb and restore it on 8.5.1 fresh install. You will first have to migrate 7.0-->7.1(x), 7.2(x), or 7.5(x) then to 8.0.1 that is use the EDMT tool to migrate old hds db to new 8.0.1 db schema version then run the installer for 8.5.1
More information on the uprade to 8.0 can be found in the upgrade guide,
As per the release notes there are no changes to the database schema in Unified CCE 8.5(1) so once on 8.0.1 you do not have to use EDMT to upgrade the db.
Hope this helps.
