XMPP Subscription and Notifications

Scenario:
I have three clients connecting to Cisco Finesse's XMPP service simultaneously:

  • Finesse desktop client using BOSH.
  • My custom CTI Toolbar front end is using BOSH.
  • A custom Java-based connector using XMPP.

All three clients can connect simultaneously, and I receive XMPP events as expected.
However, logging in with Pidgin disconnects all other clients (Finesse desktop, CTI Toolbar, and Generic connector).
Question:
Given that Finesse only supports one active connection to the Finesse Notification Service (where the Finesse desktop is considered a session), how are all three clients (Finesse, CTI Toolbar, Generic connector) able to connect simultaneously and receive XMPP events? Also, why does Pidgin cause all clients to disconnect when it connects to the same XMPP server?
