After just getting back from a great week at Cisco Live 2011,  Brian Gracely highlights one of the demonstrations that garnered a huge  amount of attention from attendees (customers & partners). This is  from Cisco's CITEIS project, which is Cisco’s internal Private Cloud.

This demonstration highlights a number of unique Cisco Data Center technologies, along with partner technologies:

The power of this demonstration is in its simplicity. We highlight  how end-users, lines of business or anyone within the organization can  easily obtain IT infrastructure through a self-service portal within  minutes. All of this is aligned with IT security and compliance  policies, but gives the business user the speed and flexibility they  need to move from a great business idea to execution on their project.

The video highlights integration between a front-end self-service  portal and service catalog (Cisco Cloud Portal), the automation and  orchestration needed to accomplish the various tasks (Cisco Enterprise  Orchestrator), and the underlying infrastructure systems. Those systems  include Cisco UCS, Cisco Nexus switching, VMware vCenter and vCloud, and  storage from EMC and NetApp.

We’ve been using this system internally for several months now. We  highlighted Cisco IAC during Padmashree Warrior’s (Cisco CTO) keynote address on Wednesday, live without a net, in front of 15,000 attendees.  And  the solutions are available now for our customers to deploy within their  Data Centers as they build their Private, Hybrid and Public Cloud  Computing environments.
