Hi Guys,

Problem/Issue :

I have seen following warning message in Nexus 7710 chassis running version 6.2.8a, while i did not have any FCoE license file on chassis.

Switch-01# sh license usage

**** WARNING: License file(s) missing. ****

This is a clear match of defect DDTS CSCul33530 that affects NX-OS 6.2(8a).

My purpose was to just to get rid of this warning as customer didn't wanted to use this feature and they didn't even had license and still they were seeing this warning message.

Solution :

workaround:
1 - run command "clear license sprom"

this will make this warning message go away but after next reboot you will still see this warning message.

permanent solution:
1 - upgrade the device to version 6.2(10)
2 - run command "clear license sprom"
3 - reload the device

this will help you to get rid of these Waring message.

I hope this will help some people who are facing this issue.

thanks.

Do I need to do this for each VDC, or only for the admin VDC?

Hi Kevin,

The command "clear license sprom" should only need to be run from the admin vdc. I do not see this command available in non-default VDCs.

Thanks,

Sean
