This document shows some of the common faults encountered while deploying a Citrix NetScaler 1000v VSA, what the error means and how to resolve it.

Fault Description: 'Service graph could not be rendered due to following:'missing-ldev-ctx'

missing ldev-ctxt-1.png

Solution: missing-ldev-ctx indicates the logical device context is not configured. Logical device context is configured under Device Cluster Selection Policies. This can be configured under Tenant --->L4-L7 Services----> Device Cluster Selection Policies. Right Click on Device Cluster Seletcion Policies to create a Logical Device Context

Fault Description: 'LDev configuration is invalid due to missing-lif'

LDEV missing LIF-1.png

Solution: This fault indicates that the logical interfaces are not configured for the logical device. Check the logical interface definition under Device Cluster as shown below. In the below image, the logical interfaces for the Device Cluster ‘Citirx’ are missing. Creating Logical interfaces for the device cluster, should clear this fault.

Fault Description: ‘Cdev configuration is invalid due to cdev-missing-cif'

Missing CIF.png

Solution: The above fault indicates the concrete device is missing concrete interface configuration. Check the concrete interface definition under Device Cluster as shown below. In the below image, the concrete interfaces for the Device Cluster ‘Citirx’ are missing. Creating concrete interfaces for the device cluster, should clear this fault

Fault Description: ‘CDev configuration is invalid due to cdev-missing-virtual-info’

Missing Virtual info.png

Solution: The above fault indicates the concrete device is missing the VM and vCenter name corresponding to the Citrix Netscaler 1000v VSA. This can be verified under Device Cluster as shown below. The VM name and vCenter fields in the below image are blank. To resolve this fault, enter the Citrix Netscaler VM name and vCenter name to which the VM is associated

Fault Description: ‘Unknown defect: ERROR in validate device’

Invalid device.png

Solution: The above fault indicates the VM name/IP/credentials and/or vCenter IP/credentials are incorrect. Verify the VM and vCenter information entered for the Device Cluster

Fault Description: vCenter shows only one portgroup (EPG) for the service node

 VM portgroup.png

Solution: In the above image, two portgroups for Citrix are seen, one for the inside and one for the outside connection. In the case where only one portgroup is seen, check the logical interface context definition as shown below. The ‘inside’ and ‘outside’ logical interface contexts should be associated to different bridge domains. If they are associated to the same bridge domain, a single portgroup will be seen on vCenter
