When we configure CBWFQ queuing on 1000v what are we actually programing if the uplink is a 10Gb CNA ?
Are we programing the Ethernet chip behind the CNA or the CNA itself ?
If it is the CNA then what about the QoS pushed down to the CNA from the switch (eg Nexus 5K/2K).as these could conceivably be different ?
For example the 5K could be telling the CNA to allow 30% for COS 2 but the 1000v might be saying 40%.
I am not talking about when using Cisco UCS here but generic servers with say Qlogic CNAs.
I am getting more and more confused about what is actually happening with uplink QOS the more I read about it.
Can anyone shed light on this and relieve the serious headache I am developing ?
Thanks
Pat
