We currently have a 6506-E with a fan tray, 2 3000W power supplies, 3 X6748-SFP line cards and a SUP720 running IOS 12.2 IP Services, which works. We would like to upgrade to the SUP 6T which is running 15.3 IOS IP Services, but when we tried it denies power to the X6748 line cards. When I look up the data sheet for the SUP 6T it says it is compatible with the X6748-SFP line card. Can anyone inform me on what might be happening here?

SUP6T is only compatible with the older modules if they have DFC upgrade to DFC4. Same case for the sup2t (except this supported CFC also). Have to upgrade the DFC modules on the 6748 or buy the 6848?(i think this is the model #) which is basically the 6748 with the newer DFC4. They are very cheap used, shouldn't be a problem to get the 6848 module.
