9336C-FX2 QSFP-100G-SR4 (CISCO-INNOLIGHT) breakout interface to C220M5 Server link down

Performed below steps to bring up the interface.

1. Upgrade the NXOS from nxos.7.0.3.I7.6 to nxos 9.3.2

2. Removed the breakout configuration and reapplied the configuration as below.

2.1 no interface breakout module 1 port 31 map 25g-4x

   2.2 interface breakout module 1 port 31 map 25g-4x

2.3 unshut interface et1/31/1-4 and configured interface et1/31/1-2 which are connected to server and then shut interface et1/31/3-4. ( during the interface et1/31/1-2 configuration if et1/31/3-4 is shut. Et1/31/1-2 is not coming up)

Hello,

Looks like you hit this defect:

CSCvo89321 - QSFP-100G-SR4 breakout link down if only enable one pair 25G port

Symptom:
Cloudscale based N9Ks using 100gig transceivers in breakout may not linkup lane 1 if all other lanes are not unshut
Conditions:
100gig in breakout and only lane 1 is unshut
Workaround:
First unshut all other lanes then shut lanes 2-4 if necessary

The defect is listed on the resolved caveats for 9.3.2: https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/switches/datacenter/nexus9000/sw/93x/release/notes/932_9000_nxos_rn.html#_Toc450024883

However, since you still experience this problem, it means that the bug is not fully fixed.

I would suggest to open a TAC case.

Cheers,

Sergiu
