We have a mutitenant DC project using VSG which works well. The guys who will manage the solution day to day are starting to automate VM deployment etc using BMC. They have come up with the following interesting question, is it possible to clone a VSG and use that as a templatre to deploy new VSGs as they onboard new tenants ?
The idea would be to have manually deploy a VSG with a managment IP address, data VLAN and HA number that wouldnt be used for any live customers and then clone it to a template. Then BMC could deploy from this template and then run an SSH script to copy in a new startup config with the unique features for that customer (Mgmt IP address, HA number data vlan etc).
Can anyone think of a reason why this wouldnt work ?
