Hi Community, 

What is the best way to interconnect two remote DCs given the following facts. 

Both DCs connect over a DWDM line. 

The edge device doing the communication are 3850 switches. 

With the above information we know OTV is not an option. 

What are the options to avoid just extending the flat Layer 2 network? Q-in-Q? Other Layer 2 tunneling?

Simplest would be to do a LAN extension by using vPC / VSS for redundancy.

Thank you for your reply. 

The concern is that even if we just plain extend the Layer 2 LAN over the DWDM or do Q-in-Q or VPC/VSS, none of those buy us anything to prevent Layer 2 loops. 

Q-in-Q at least allow us not to tunnel STP if we chose not to. 

I'm very interested to hear other recommendations or thoughts.
