Enabling VPC on Nexus 9508

Dears,

We have a nexus 9508 which operates as a layer 2 switch, as the gateways are configured on external firewalls. We need to enable the VPC feature, my question is that, does it affect the current setup, the port channels configured currently (all of the configured port channel are on the same chassis for now)?

And does it require a restart for the VPC feature to be enabled?

Hello,

By itself, enabling VPC feature and configuring it on 2 switches will not impact any existing traffic.

But assuming that your 2 switches are already interconnected in traditional STP design with some Vlans, moving this interco into VPC Peer-Link with the production Vlans into it will potentially impact these Vlans while you perform the change.

By the way, no need to reboot them.
