Hi,
Is possible to modify the syslog messages of a Nexus 5K? I am reviewing cisco doc but I don´t find it.
- In a cisco Nexus 5596 we have the next:
Dec 21 22:06:14 192.168.66.81 VHCSN5KMXXXXX: 2020 Dec 21 21:41:42 GMT: %AUTHPRIV-3-SYSTEM_MSG: pam_aaa:Authentication failed from 213.140.34.127 - dcos_sshd[1199]
- In a cisco Nexus5548 we have the next:
2020-12-22T02:29:16.410909+01:00 192.168.120.61 VHCSN5XXXX: 2020 Dec 22 02:29:16 CET: %OSPF-4-DUPRID: ospf-10 [4909] (HCS-management) Router 192.168.142.134 on interface Vlan10 is using our routerid, packet dropped
We would like to modify the time stamp of the Nexus 5548 (second example) like the Nexus 5596, is it possible?
Thank you
Regards,
David Lozano

Hi David,
What is the output of show run all | i clock|syslog|timestamp|format as well as show version | i i image for both Nexus devices?
Side question: Is the output you are showing from show logging log, or from a monitoring tool after receiving syslogs from the Nexus?
Thanks!

Hi Andrea,
Thanks for your answer and sorry for the delay, I was on vacations.
Below you can see the output of the commands:
VHCSN5KXXX# show run all | i clock|syslog|timestamp|format
no snmp-server enable traps syslog message-generated
clock format 24-hours
cdp format device-id system-name
spanning-tree pseudo-information
clock timezone CET 1 0
clock summer-time CEST 5 Sun Mar 02:00 5 Sun Oct 02:00 60
hardware ip glean throttle syslog 10000
hardware ipv6 glean throttle syslog 10000
show version | i i image
kickstart image file is: bootflash:///n5000-uk9-kickstart.7.3.8.N1.1.bin
system image file is: bootflash:///n5000-uk9.7.3.8.N1.1.bin
It is the output of the logs in a remote syslog server.
Thank you!!!

VHCSN5KHKGEQ1# show version | i i image
kickstart image file is: bootflash:///n5000-uk9-kickstart.7.3.8.N1.1.bin
system image file is: bootflash:///n5000-uk9.7.3.8.N1.1.bin
Thank you,
