Latest Designs for Connecting Data Centers Using Nexus 5500 and 5600s?
Starting to look at our options for a new European data center.
We are looking for the latest best practices for connecting two Data Centers. One will be in Chicago (and is up currently) and the other in Germany. We will have a 10G "dark fiber"pipe connecting the two data Centers. From provider documentation, we understand that we can connect using L2 or L3 or both using this service. There are some protocols requiring L2 so, we would like to have some VLANs traverse the pipe, eg: vMotion...etc. Also, we would like L3 to traverse the pipe as well using SVIs. We've been searching for some documentation specific to this type of design, but not coming up with anything that seems to fit. Can anyone send along a link or Doc illustrating these types of designs using Nexus 5500s and 5600s? Open to suggestions on Design as well...
