Nexus 3048 bootflash files

Hi,

 

I am trying to free up some space on several Nexus 3k switches. some of the switch extra files on them, which  I have marked in red below:

Usage for bootflash://

 

is it safe to delete these files in red?

These are non default files that someone must have loaded sometime to the bootflash. The files are also very old.

 

If you are currently running nxos.7.0.3.I2.4.bin, this is the only file that is needed on bootflash. Everything else can be deleted. You can check the current file utilized to load system using the "show version" command.

If you are currently running nxos.7.0.3.I2.4.bin, this is the only file that is needed on bootflash. Everything else can be deleted. You can check the current file utilized to load system using the "show version" command.

Thanks for the answer Manoj. it's good to know that we can delete those files safely.

On the other hand, I found in CISCO upgrade documents you can compact the image, but you need to be on specific code to perform that. It was very helpful where I managed to compact the image in the lab more than half original size and upload it to prod which was a very nice solution for the space issue I encountered on the 3k devices.
