Can anybody confirm what ipv6/MLD settings need to be added to the Nexus configurations to get VxRail loudmouth service to work correctly?
I have read that multicast traffic is flooded out the vlan it was received on by default. But Dell is telling us we have to implement a full ipv6 mld configuration.
Thanks!

I wonder why Dell say that. We are doing VxRail installation on a 9Kk VXLAN (DCNM managed) fabric soon. I tested IPv6 on a VN and it worked fine even between DCs (EVPN multisite) with no specific IPv6 setup at all. Which was what I expected as its essentially normal L2 traffic at that point. This was static IPv6 on the hosts though. Perhaps Dell want to use dynamic IPv6 address asignment which would require either IPv6 DHCP on the VLAN / VN or IPv6 gateways etc on the switches or fabric.

This ended up being a nothing burger. Dell techs that didn't know what they were doing had misconfigured the devices. Once we got competent support they factory reset the devices and things worked as advertised.
So, in summary:
1. No need to do any MLD/IPv6 Configuration.
2. Always verify that your call to support didn't end up going to some outsourced call center where the techs are nothing more than script readers.

I had the same issue when we bought VxRail.
My summary was even thoght MLD is not running, its still L2 multicast and to will be flooed to its destination.
In the end it worked fine and they managed to add the new host to the VxRail.
But i still want MLD to be implemented. IGMP Snooping is a standard feature, MLD should be to in the year 2020.
