Hi

We have two vem installed on two ESX with two CPU.

We have installed 4 licences. Everything works fine but the output of "show licence usage" is different from our other nexus1000v.

# show license usage

I have the same issue. Have you managed to find a solution?

N1K# sh license usage

Feature                      Ins  Lic   Status Expiry Date Comments

                                 Count

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

NEXUS_VSG_SERVICES_PKG        No  512   Unused 10 Aug 2013 -

NEXUS1000V_LAN_SERVICES_PKG   Yes  56   Unused Never       -

NEXUS_ASA1000V_SERVICES_PKG   No   16   Unused 10 Aug 2013 -

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Does anyone have any idea why? Our N1k version is 4.2(1)SV2(1.1a)

thanks

Ram

I think I figured out the answer to my own question. With Cisco new free-mium pricing for the 1000v, the switch defaults to the essentials edition and does not consume licenses even when installed (since the essentials edition does not require licenses).

If you type in "svs switch edition advanced", the switch moves to advanced mode and immediately consumes the licenses.

HTH.
