Urgent need to Provision Ethernet ports on a 7K VDC

RWSdude

Level 1

I have the maximum VDCs on a 7K and need to reallocate that VDC to support f2 fe card from m1 f1 type.  I need to know if this will be service affecting to the rest of the switch?   Assume that I would need to:

no allocate interface Ethernet1/10-12,Ethernet1/41

no limit-resource module-type m1 f1 m1xl m2xl

limit-resource module-type f2 f2e

allocate interface Ethernet2/1-48

Thanks in advance!

Hi @RWSdude

Apart of the impact on ports Ethernet2/1-48 and all M1/F1 ports allocated to the respective VDC subject to change, there should be no impact on the rest of the VDCs/ports.

Regards,

Sergiu

Thanks, Sergiu.

I assume all the commands I listed are correct and in the right order?

So the removed ports return to the unallocated VDC 0, specifically ports 10-12 & 41?  What happens when I reallocate them to module 1, they will return to mod 1 in a shutdown state with no impact to mod 1?

Thanks.

All configuration is lost when moving ports between VDC and they will be in shutdown state.

There's documentation about this here:
