VEthernet timeout values

I was doing some testing with the vethernets and I noticed some interesting things.  When a VM is assigned to a port-profile, the Nexus/VSM seems to assign the VM to the next available vethernet port.  If you then change the port-profile assignment on that VM it will move it to the next unused vethernet.  The first vethernet will timeout or go away after some time to be reused later if needed.  Does anyone know how many seconds the vethernet port will remain viable (or at least present when the "show interface status" command is issued)?

Hi Eric,

There is a veth auto deletion policy in place, any veths (mapped to a DVPort) which is not currently in use by a VNIC will be auto-deleted within 5 minutes. This auto-delete will not happen if one of the following two conditions is true:
i) The connection to the VC is down
ii) The 'no svs veth auto-delete' is configured (in version SV1(2) and above).

A syslog entry is genereated indicating the auto deletion of the veth.

Hope this helps!

That helps a great deal Abhinav, thank you.
