VLAN to VXLAN mapping is one-to-one we are still limited to 4096

Currently, in Data Center Networks, VLAN to VXLAN mapping is often one-to-one. This means that we are still limited to a maximum of 4096 VLANs instead of 16 million. So, the real benefit of using VXLAN is primarily to extend VLANs or Layer 2 over Layer 3. Therefore, there is no real need to use the full 16 million.

Now, what if you have 4096 VLANs in your existing VXLAN EVPN solution with a one-to-one mapping, and you want to add, say, 10 Broadcast Domains to your existing VLANs?

My question is: how do you do that?

I made another post in this form explaining this , not sure what the link is at the moment.   The Vlan ID is only local per VTEP device, so the limitation on the number of vlans is only local to that device. Now I suppose if you have 4000 customers and every single customer is connected to every single vtep(leaf) then you are still out of vlan ids.  But that's not usually the case.   The scale happens when there are many many many leaves and clients are connected everywhere.   As you can see in the diagram the vlan 10 on leaf101 is the same as vlan 20 on leaf 102 so they ids don't have to match, but each leaf is limited to a certain amount, maybe 1000.
