VPC status down NX 5k

Quick question.  I'm adding some vpc ports to a switch which has vpc already configured on it.  The fibers will run to a server.  I've pre-configured the port-channel and interfaces.  The fibers are plugged in to the switch but not yet to the server.  When I do a sho run vpc brief everything shows success but status is down.  Just wanted to make sure this is bc the fibers haven't been pugged in to the server yet.

Just to clarify, are you creating a new vpc with new links? If so that's normal vpc is in status down. As soon as member of the port-channel is up, everything goes up.

If you're adding links to an existing vpc, the status should be up.

Yup it's a new vpc.  I figured that just wanted to double check.
