Where to download the Nexus 1000V?

I'm trying to dowload an evaluation version of the Nexus 1000V Switch, but the server distributing it send me an error 404.

I'm using this link http://www.cisco.com/go/1000veval.

It redirects me to http://tools.cisco.com/support/downloads/go/ and it doesn't work.

I'v also been trying from the VMware website, but it's the same, it redirects me to the same server.

I'm unable to find it anywhere else.

Anyone can help me with this, maybe you'll have an idea ? I need this for experimental testing.

Thanks.

Hi Joseph,

Not sure why they are returning Error 404.

You can download the Nexus 1000V software via the following from Cisco.com:

1) Downloads Home

2) Products

3) Switches

4) Data Center Switches

5) Cisco Nexus 1000V Series Switches

6) Cisco Nexus 1000V Switch

7) Choose your release, with the latest being: NX-OS System Software-4.2(1)SV1(5.1a)

Direct Link to the latest release:

http://www.cisco.com/cisco/software/release.html?mdfid=282646785&flowid=3090&softwareid=282088129&release=4.2%281%29SV1%285.1a%29&relind=null&rellifecycle=null&reltype=null&i=rb

The Nexus 1000V comes with an evaluation license of 60 days, so that should be plenty of time for you to do your experimental testing.

Thanks,

Michael

Thanks your quick answer.

Actually, I'm trying to download the Nexus 1000V itself, the VSM and VEM modules.

I'm looking for an ISO or OVA image for a VMWare integration.

The link you gave me is only the OS to be installed on it.

So this doesn't solve my issue, unfortunately.

I hope you can come up with another solution...

Thanks,

Joseph

Hi Joseph.

The link I provided is to the latest bundle release.

If you were to download the Zip file, within it you would find that, amongst other things, there is a VSM ISO file and VSM OVA file (which is used to deploy the VSM virtual machine within vCenter). Additionally, you will find the VEM bits which need to be installed on the ESX server.

Thanks,

Michael

Hi Michael,

I'm sorry for my mistake.

Seeing "NX-OS System Software" is quite misleading and neither I or my colleagues thought this was the bundle release.

I'm therefore dowloading the file. This should be ok know, I'll post here again if there is any problem.

Thanks again for your help.

Joseph
