As part of the Project Staffing Tool Consolidation and the effort to streamline and simplify the project staffing and resource request process, the following changes are being implemented in DCP user interface on July 8, 2018:

  • Resource Management
    • Consolidation of options under the '+' icon:The option to “Create a Deliverable Request” in DCP is being removed. After the July 8 release, please use the “Create Resource Request” or “Create a Direct Assignment” option to request a specific deliverable in DCP.
On the request form, provide additional requirements in the “Description of Work Requested” field and select an Activity (i.e. deliverable) from the WBS.  See an example below:

    • Weekends and Holidays Flags: To provide ready view into possible holiday and weekend work required for Resource Requests and assignments, flags are being introduced to indicate as much. For existing Resource Requests and Assignments, these flags would set as inactive (gray). Editing these flags (setting or resetting them) would in turn alter the Total Hours, as applicable.

    • Capture and preservation of the method of allocation on Essentials tab: Currently, the system converts % Allocation to Total Hours when the Resource Request or the Assignment is re-queried. After the July 8 release, the selected option (Total Hours or % Allocation) will be used to compute the the allocation. For the 'Total Hours' option, the number of hours typed in will be the absolute hours required over the specified duration.  For the '% Allocation' option, it will be the percent allocation over the specified duration. In either case, the selection be will stored with the resource request as specified.

    • Deprecation of the Advance Calendar tab: The Advanced Calendar tab is being removed due to its relative low usage and the need to simplify the process and data model for integration with BAT Tool.

  • Staffing Management: the first three changes listed above would apply to Staffing Management as well.
