Cisco VoIP time dependent call forwarding

Dear guys,


I'm pretty new in this community and do not know if this is the correct board.


In our company we use Cisco VoIP phones with jabber client. I need to have a time dependent call forwarding in a certain time period every day to voicemail (12 p.m. to 6 a.m.), and in other times to a certain phone number (6 a.m. to 12 p.m.), which is changed every day. This forwarding should be done automatically without user action.

Is there a direct way to do this e.g. with UCM or another software of Cisco or is there any API with SOAP or REST to handle this requirement? Should be just some first thoughts about this topic.

Hi there,

 

It would be helpful, if you can elaborate further on your requirement.

 

You could use Time Schedule and Time Period settings to route the calls.

 

For example : Lets say there is a DN 1000 in 'Partition- Local'

                     Create partition BH_Local(business hour local) and apply a time schedule to the Partition(say 9AM to 6PM) and Create AH_Local(After Hour Local) and apply a time schedule to the Partition(say 6 PM to 12 AM and 12 AM to 8.59 AM). Then create two DNs with same extension 1000 and assign it in two different partitions('AH_Local' and 'BH_Local' created above). Thus calls can be routed based on business hours.

 

OR -- If you have UCCX in your environment, you could create a simple script with Date and Time settings and route the call accordingly.

 

If you have any questions, do reply. Do provide details on which numbers you would want to route, Is it for calls to reception ?

- Cisco Jabber

 

What else do you need for requirement? Time dependent switch between call forwarding to mobile number or voicebox.

 

What is "DN 1000 in 'Partition- Local'"?" Which application do I need for this?

 

Not having UCCX, should I use it, what are advantages?

Lets say there is an extension 1000  which has to be forwarded to mobile number 987654321 during business hours and the same extesnion has to be forwarded for VM after business hours.

 

Create two Partitions - Incoming_BH and Incoming_AH

 

Create 'Time Period' (Under Class of Control in CUCM) for Business Hours and After Business hours in CUCM and associate it to 'Time Schedule'. Apply the time schedule to the Partitions accordingly.
