What's the event?
It’s HackZurich - http://www.hackzurich.com/ - one of the largest hackathons (lasting 40 hours) in which 500 of the most talented hackers from all over the world compete for the prestige and prizes associated with creating award winning applications.
Registration is now closed, but if you’ve been accepted to take part in the hackathon, you’ll know about it and will get more information very soon.
Specifically, how is DevNet involved?
We’re holding a workshop to get participants fully up-to-speed with three Cisco technologies in readiness for the hackathon:
- NeXt (JavaScript based toolkit for network web applications) with OpenDaylight
- EIoT (Power-Over-Ethernet (PoE) USB-to-ethernet adapter that allows simple Python scripting to pull information from enterprise sensors across the network.)
- Tropo (exposes a cloud API for creating applications that use phone calls, voice recognition or text messages. We will introduce you to its easy-to-learn, easy-to-implement scripting environment designed for creating a wide variety of communications applications.
Attendees will then be able to use the technologies in the hackathon.
We’ve also contributed a Drone as a prize for the ‘Best use of next gen platforms and tools from Cisco’ category.
See you there!
