We have always bought our Cisco gear either a VAR or a MSP. My VP wants me to see if we would get a better deal going to Cisco direct. Right now, we are looking at upgrading our core routing and moving from our old PBX to a more modern system. We are about 300 employees. I think this is a bad idea. I took a look at the ordering tools on the Cisco site, I don't think I have a chance getting the licensing correct...and I would probably end up with power cords for some place in Europe. I also feel that we would probably get a better deal from our regular VAR (CDW). But - I still need to figure out how to talk him out of this. He is usually a pretty reasonable guy. Any suggestions?
As far as I know, at least where I live, Cisco does not sell anything directly to end customer. They will get your request and engage some reseller on your area.
