Can you turn off DLP notification or filtering if email is encrypted

Customer wants to turn off DLP notification if the email is sent in Secure(Encrypted) format which I have configured on the Ironport.  So whatever is in the email will be ignored by DLP Manager if sent encrypted?  Wouldn't this defeat purpose of sending /bypassing security of company information.
