Can you use the same interface (management) for outbound traffic from Exchange Server (relay)?

Can you use the same interface (management) for outbound traffic from Exchange Server (relay)? Everything seems about right after following all the guides. Just need to verify this one tidbit before testing. Will the relay (send connector) to the ESA from Exchange require authentication--this is outbound only. The allowed senders IP addresses are all set within the ESA, but will the Exchange server need to authenticate to the ESAv?

Re: Can you use the same interface (management) for outbound traffic from Exchange Server (relay)?

You can use the same physical interface. It doesn't matter which one.

If I'm using just one, I prefer to put 2 IPs on it, one for inbound mail that gets tied to a "public" listener and one for outbound mail that gets tied to a "private" listener.

The ip for the public listener gets natted through the firewall to a public IP, DNS records point to that IP, port 25 allowed in, ect...

The IP for the private listener is what Exchange's Send Connector has for mail destined for the internet.
