Cisco Secure Email Regular Expression in Dictionaries

Hello,

we are not able to define a working regular expression in Cisco Secure Email Dictionaries UI.

What is the correct syntax to achieve regex filtering with dictionaries in the UI?

We've tried so far:
'firstname surname'
/firstname surname/
/firstname surname/g
(firstname surname)
"firstname surname"

Thank you for your help!

Greetings

What's the end goal?
If you do it without any punctuation, and check the box for "Match whole words" it acts like /firstname surname/i

Unfortunately it does not work with "Match whole words" active.

Only terms containing single words like 'Bitpanda' are recognized by the gateway but more "complex" terms like 'Kalter Kaffee' won't be. All matching emails will be quarantined at the end.

I thought a regex would be a workaround.

See attached screenshot for detailed info of our current dictionary config.

What does your content filter or message filter look like?

Our currently active content filter:

Single words are filtered. More complex terms not.

Weird... that doesn't make any sense to me... profanity and sexual content both have multiple word entries.

I have just tested both categories for example terms like "fresh off the boat" or "vertical bacon sandwich" and both won't be filtered. Maybe a bug from the gateway or a misconfiguration.

Your filter looks much like mine. I'm on 15.5.2, and it works for me...

Maybe an order issue? Is some other content filter causing this one to be skipped?
