Do our senders have to register in CRES to get to the replies?

We have been using IronPort encryption for over 7 years since it was PostX so we grew acustomed to the way it worked.  Now we need to transition to CRES and we see that when our user sends an email using MS Outlook using a special tag in the subject that email goes out encrypted just fine, however when the recipient replies to the message, our poor internal user no longer gets the reply in thier MS Outlook automagically unencrypted, instead our internal users are treated as outsiders in CRES and are required to register with CRES to read the replies.

Am I missing some setting?   Can we set up CRES to deliver the message using our on premise C660 to the user like our old on premise encryption system did?

The feature you are looking for is 'secure reply via tls'.  Following is a kb article on how to set it up.

https://ironport.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/1067/kw/secure%20reply%20via%20tls

Its setup on a domain by domain basis, but it does work and provides exactly the functionality you are looking for.

Cheers!
