Ironport M series Gathering Data for Reports.

Hello everyone

The documentation states "The Security Management appliance pulls data for all reports from all managed appliances approximately every 15 minutes..... Depending on your appliance, it may take awhile for a particular message to be included in the reporting data on the Security Management appliance."

The reports that are to be taken by the SMA, rest on the ESAs and stay unavailable until they are pulled out by the SMA. I was wondering if it's possible to shorten the 15 minutes period by either configuring the SMA or the ESA in a different way.
Since the addition of the SMA, 20 or so minutes of gap were reported between the SMA and the ESA.

Apart from that, is Cisco considering a cloud service as an alternative?

Thanks a lot!
Regards
Guido

No.  There is not a way to change the sync time for any/all centralized management processes.

As for cloud service - there is a hosted solution that is offered through Cisco Cloud and Managed Services.  Please see the following link:

http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/products/security/cloud-web-security/index.html

They offer a hosted solution to having an cloud based ESA and SMA, and also offer hybrid solutions (on-customer-premise ESA/SMA & Cisco hosted ESA/SMA).

I hope this helps!
