IronPort Outlook plug-in 7.3 on Windows 8 with Outlook 2013

We are attempting to install the 7.3 Outlook plugin on Windows 8.1 with Outlook 2013 and after the installer gets the pre-requisites installed it errors out with:

"Cisco IronPort Email Security Plug-In cannot be installed on systems without Microsoft Outlook 2003 or higher. [OK]"

The workstation has Outlook 2013 installed and functional.

Please advise.

Win 8.1 isn't listed as supported/tested w/ the plug-in:

Hmm, timeframe?  8 has been out for 3+ years now.

What are my options for desktop encrypting an e-mail with Cisco and Windows 8?

Inline w/ my earlier response --- if you aren't getting the plugin to load - the only other option is the subject line tagging, using [ENCRYPT] or specified content/message filter driven encryption once the message hits the ESA.

From my win 8.1/office2013 test - I was able to use both the plug-in driven encyption and subject line tag to process through my virtual ESAs encrption profile.

The one catch I see w/ the 7.3 plug-in in my win 8.1/office2013 test was getting the signed BCE XML added.  The plug-in allows the de-cryption of the recieved CRES signed/encrypted message, but the email is automatically opened, and does not present the recognition of the XML file and option to save that information to Outlook --- thus, installing the XML and enabling the encryption ability.  I had to manually save the XML, and then find the hidden C:\ProgamData\Cisco\Cisco IronPort Email Security Plug-In\<userID> folder... and then do the manual rename of my BCE_signed.XML to config_1.  After restart of Outlook, this loads fine - and enables the Encrypt button when using New Email.

I just loaded up 8.1, Office 2013 - added in my test gmail account, and then loaded the 7.3 (Version: 7.3.1.5) plug-in - no issues.  

I had to step through the pre-reqs and install Java, for the .NET framework, I went through the control panel > programs > programs & features > Turn Windows features on or off... and selected the .NET Framework 3.5 option, since Win 8.1 has 4.5 installed as default...

After, w/ the 7.3 plug-in install, ran fine w/o issue... Outlook loads... seeing Cisco Email Security section, w/ the Spam/Not Spam/Virus/Phish options... Encrypt button shows on New Email.
