What steps are necessary on the SMA when we RMA an ESA

Se have a management appliance providing message tracking and reporting for our multiple ESA appliances.  We are in the process of replacing an ESA that is failing via the RMA process.  My question is what steps do we need to do on the management appliance so that it will pull data from the replacement and still restain the data from the old appliance.  PLease advise.

FYI, the management appliance is on 10.1.0 and the esa's 10.0.1 We have only ESA's, no web boxes.

Hi Tony,

Here is an useful article for your reference.

https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/support/docs/security/email-security-appliance/118413-technote-esa-00.html

As long as you upgrade the RMA appliance and import the configuration file or configure it manually to use the same IP addresses the SMA would continue to pull data from the replacement appliance.

As for the existing data it should be retained by the SMA in its database and can be viewed using the filter for "All hosts".
