asa with firepower to FTD

hi,

if one have bought ASA5516-FPWRBUN (see attached). i beleive its ASA (5516-x) with firepower. this is not deployed yet. is it possible to configure unified image i.e FTD on ASA rather than separate images (i.e ASA with firepower) using the support (CON-PSOP-ASA556F9 and CON-PSBU-VM2)bought with it.

Hi there! Yes, you can deploy the Firepower Threat Defense (FTD) image. There are a couple of things that you will need to do:

• Re-Image the ASA with the FTD Image. See here
• Sign up for a Smart Licensing Account (If you have not done this before). FTD only works with smart licenses. See here
• Convert your traditional licenses (In this case the TAMC) to smart licenses. You can do this once you get access to a Smart Licensing Account
