ASDM versus Firesight Management Center licensing issue

Hello,

I recently acquired 3 licenses (full TAMC) for a 5500-x device. ProtectControl/URLFilter/Malware

I generated the licenses for the License key displayed in ASDM ---> License key 77:xx:xx:xx:xx:xx.

I installed the Firepower module. I installed the licenses through ASDM. It works this way.

After, I deployed FMC on a KVM host. Once I registered the FMC to my firepower module, I lost the Firepower tabs in ASDM (which could be normal).

After, I went in the FMC licensing menu, I got an Unlicensed status and I noticed the License key on the VM is : 66:xx:xx:xx:xx:xx:xx.

I couldn't install the licenses on the VM since they were generated only for the firepower module in the first place and not the Firesight Management Center.

Is there a way to migrate the licenses?

Is there a way to use both Firepower through ASDM and FMC? If not - I would rather use FMC. What do I do next?

You can rehost the license to your new FMC license key. The procedure is

1) Go to cisco.com/go/license

2) Under Manage, click on the "Licenses" Tab

3) Click on the license ID and choose the "Rehost/Tranfer" option.

4) Follow the steps by adding the new License Key from your FMC.
