Firepower 6.4, stable?

Ralphy006

I have a ton of sites running ASA with firepower on 6.2.3.14. Looking to get some firepower 1010’s that require the fmc to be 6.4.

Anyone running 6.4? Any major issues? Is it stable?

Hi Ralphy,

6.4 version has issues like the previous version, you can consult the release notes :

https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/security/firepower/640/640x/relnotes/firepower-release-notes-640x/resolved_issues.html

Also, remember that a mayor version fix issues presented on previous versions.

Best Regrads.

Thanks... the resolved issue list is helpful.

However, is there a list that shows the open issues for the newest 6.4 release?

There aren't a whole lot of open issues with the lastest 6.4.0.3:

https://bst.cloudapps.cisco.com/bugsearch/search?kw=*&pf=prdNm&pfVal=286259685&rls=6.4.0.3&sb=afr&sts=open

However there aren't near as many deployments are there are with 6.2.3.x. That's why TAC recommends 6.2.3.13 as their "gold star" release.

That said, the FMC is stable in my experience. I am running 6.4.0.3 in several production deployments without any issue. You can leave your other devices on 6.2.3.14 and just run 6.4.0.3 on FMC and the new Firepower 1010s.
