How to open .SH File for Firesight Management Center Virtual Appliance

Hi Team,

I have downloaded the Firesight Management Center Virtual file but I can´t open it. The extension is ¨.SH¨ as you can see in fhe following information that I´ve obtained from Cisco.com web page:

Cisco FireSIGHT Management Center Patch  Login & Valid Contract Required
Sourcefire_3D_Defense_Center_S3_Patch-5.4.1.5-33.sh
19-JAN-2016 1980.92 MB

How can I decompress this .sh File in order to get the OVF File to create the VMWare virtual machine?

Thanks for your answer!

Neyton

Hi Jorge,

What you have downloaded is the patch file that is applied on an existing system.

To install a new VM with Firesight Management Center you will need the installer file.

Looking at the version you downloaded, you will need the Sourcefire_Defense_Center_Virtual64_VMware-5.4.0-763.tar.gz file which can be found here:

https://software.cisco.com/download/release.html?mdfid=286259687&softwareid=286271056&release=SEU&relind=AVAILABLE&rellifecycle=&reltype=latest

Click on 5.4 in the left column to find this.

If you plan to install the latest version please use: Cisco_Firepower_Management_Center_VMware-6.0.0-1005.tar.gz which can be found in the same link by expanding 6.0 in the left column.

Thanks,

Pujita

Hi Pujita,

It doesn´t make sense because in the link you have provided me there isn´t a .TAR.GZ file.

Please check the attached file.

Thanks.

Hi Neyton

You will need to expand by clicking on 6.0 and choosing 6.0.0.0 or expanding 5.4 and choosing 5.4.0.

Attaching image for same.

Pujita

Excellent! I can see now where has been the problem. I really apreciarte your help. :)

Have a nice day Sir!

Hi,

Check this : https://software.cisco.com/download/release.html?mdfid=286259687&flowid=72302&softwareid=286271056&release=Rules%20Updates&relind=AVAILABLE&rellifecycle=&reltype=latest

Now Under All releases > 5.4.0. There is a tar file which contains the ovf file as well.

To deploy it check : http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/support/docs/security/firesight-management-center-virtual-appliance/118645-configure-firesight-00.html
