5510 to 5512 Migration

Migrating from 5510:

ASA Software 9.1(7)32

Device Manager 7.8(1)150

to 5512-X

ASA Software 9.8(4)

Device Manager 7.12(1)

I am hoping that there's a simple way to capture everything in the current configuration, including pre-shared keys (that I don't seem to have all of) by just exporting the running-config over tftp or USB from the 5510, and importing via USB on the 5512.

Will that work?

Hello,

Use 'more disk0:running-configuration' and you could capture the PSK value.

If it is small base rule config, i like to create it manually, and cut over ( so you get chance to remove unwanted rules)

  • The interface are named differently on the ASA 5512-X.
  • Based on the version you are running, there could be changes in the syntax, for example for TLS-based VPNs.
  • If you have an SSD in your 5512-X and a FirePOWER license you can think about migrating parts of access-control to FirePower.

if not please follow below link for migration :
