Hi,

I know we have to power off in order to install new interface card on ASA. in single FW, there is no option to avoid service outage until the firewall back up.

but, in case of HA mode between FWs, is there any way to avoid service interruption or minimize the service impact?

Following the add new interface card change step

1. Power off standby FW

2. Install new card on Stand FW

3. When Standby FW is back up, then, shutdown Primary FW so that Standby FW become primary role at the moment.

4. Add new network card on previous primary FW and boot up

5. Once the previous primary FW is back up and failover mode with another FW, then, switchback the primary role to the primary FW

6. Complete the task,

the key point is to add new interface card one at a time to minimize the service interruption.

Would it work?
