I have a Cisco ASA 5505 V10. I've upgraded it to use asa825-K8 & asdm-649.103.  Before the upgrade I was able to get to the ASDM via https://192.168.1.1.  However after the upgrade I just get a page cannot be displayed.  Any help is much appreciated. I have rebooted the ASA.

Asuming that no settings have been changed on the ASA, it could be a java issue. Please try a different java version, maybe version 7 and let me know.

-please add the following command and see what debugs we get:

debug http 255

Any changes that might have been made on the ASA?

AJ,

I reverted back to ASDM 6.2 (1) because I have a different ASA 5505 running ASDM 6.2 (1) and I am able to connect to that one just fine using Java 7 Update 21.  I'm still running ASA 825-k8.bin on the ASA that is causing issues.  When I did a debug http 255 I get:

HTTP: Periodic admin session check (idle-timeout = 1200, session-timeout = 0)

No other changes.

Hi,

This seems to be a pretty common problem. Though in my personal case I have usually always forgotten some basic configuration on the ASA itself or I have messed up some routing (in larger management networks)

Can you check that you atleast have the basic settings enabled to make this work.

show run http

show run asdm

You can probably check if the ASA is listening on the appropriate port using the command

show asp table socket

Other common problems are I guess related to Java and browsers.

Jouni,

show run http    =  http server enabled

show run asdm showing asdm image disk0:/asdm-621.bin (I reverted back to this one)

no asdm history enable

show asp table socket  =

Protocol   Local Address

SSL         192.168.1.1:443

I did try that Local address in a brower, same result page cannot be displayed.

Running Java V 7 update 21
