Hi,
I have a CISCO ASA 5520 with ASA version 7.0(8) and ASDM version 5.0(8) I need to upgrade it to new image, I’m confusing which version I have to select since my requirement only to view the IPv6 on ASDM. The existing ASDM doesn't show the IPv6; please can you help me on which version I have to select for ASA image and ASDM? And I don't think I have to select the latest version!
Thanks,
Rabih

Hello Rabih,
IPv6 support for ASA in available with ASA 7.2 or higher.
Here is a guide to configure the same : http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/security/asa/asa72/configuration/guide/int5505.html
IPv6 is supported in both transparent and routed modes. The ASA 8.2 Release introduces transparent mode support.
http://www.cisco.com/en/US/prod/collateral/vpndevc/ps6032/ps6094/ps6120/qa_c67-525310.html
If you are familiar with ASA 8.3 or above style of configuration, then follow this document and you can upgrade to ASA 8.4.1 (latest available) : https://supportforums.cisco.com/docs/DOC-12690
else you can upgrade to ASA 8.2.4.
Please note, you need to follow this path to upgrade : current -> 7.2.5 -> 8.0.5 -> 8.2.4 or current -> 7.2.5 -> 8.4.1
Please check the changes, minimum requirements of ASA 8.4 before upgrade.
You can use the latest ASDM 6.4.1 with both ASA 8.4.1 & 8.2.4.
Hope this helps.

Chirag
