Hi.  What are the main differences between both OS's.  ACL NAT creation is different are there any other obvious differences that can be summed up.

8.4 and 9.1 have the same NAT&ACL language the difference is between anything prior to 8.3.

The only differences are features, meaning more features from 8.4 to 9.1

An 8.4 to 9.1 difference to pay some attention to is the change in IPv6 support.  In 9.x the "any" keyword becomes dual-stack and the separate IPv6 access lists go away.  Any v4-only rules should switch to "any4".

Hello Louis,

Another important concept is the fact that starting on ASA 8.3 we move to an Object Based enviroment to make our lifes easier as administrators.

This comes into place to configure NAT and ACLs (Similar to the configuration being used by other vendors [Checkpoint,Juniper,Palo Alto]
