ASA - Can not copy firmware Image to device

Hello,

I was able to copy the ASDM image to the device but NOT the firmware image. It worked for many other customer devices that are supported by my company.

I can not copy it via ASDM or SSH. The process is running as normal until the end and it stops with an error.

ASA: 5512

Running-Firmware: 9.8(2)35

ASDM: 7.8(2)

I want to copy asa992-52-lfbff-k8.SPA.

I have read a post where you consider upgrading to a newer ASA-firmware first. Is this the case here?

Is there any other way to copy the file to the device?

Best regards,

Benjamin Körnig

i guess i found the solution.

the 5512 does not support this firmware.

The "lbff" in the image name indicates it is digitally signed. These image types are specific to ASA 5506-X, 5508-X and 5516-X appliances.

To run that version on an 5512-X you would would need the non-signed version of the same release. The file name is "asa-992-52-smp-k8.bin", available here:
