Hi,

I found the following item on the Cisco ASA5510 quotation. I’ve been searching on the internet but couldn’t find info about the meaning of each part highlighted with blue & bold font. Therefore, I would appreciate if you could share this info with me.

CON-SU1-AS1A10K8 IPS SVC, AR NBD ASA5510-AIP10-K8

CON-CSSPD-ASAINC10  SHARED SUPP SDS AIP SSM-10 included in ASA systems

CON-CSSPD-AS1A10K9  SHARED SUPP SDS ASA5510 w/ AIP-SSM-10, 3 FE, 3DES/AES

Thanks in advance

Since it's a quotation, your reseller should be able to explain it fully.

All items are Smartnet support. I don't have the full explanation, but here's how I understand them:

The first item is for the Intrusion Protection System software service(optional part of an ASA).

Second is for the AIP module.

Third is for the main ASA itself.

Thanks Marvin for your reply. But I just want to know the meaning of each code.

As example:

3FE is 3 Fast Ethernet

How about

  • CON
  • SU1
  • CSSPD
  • SVC
  • AR
  • NBD
  • SUPP
  • SDS

  • CON = a support contract line item (vs. hardware or software)
  • SU1 = a part number denoting that the service is "AR NBD" (see below)
  • CSSPD = Cisco shared support partner-delivered
  • SVC = Service
  • AR = Advanced Replacement
  • NBD = Next Business Day
  • SUPP = Support
  • SDS = Supply Depot System. Meaning the partner maintains a depot with spare parts

this isn't smartnet but shared support service warranty. SU1 denotes software update, this is for the IPS Signature update good for 1 yr. CSSPD is hardware and software warranty channeled through partner.
