To my knowledge ASA firewall can be shutdown by unplugging the firewall cable, but when SFR runs on SSD hard disk, can I do that? Will it require graceful shutdown?

Hi,
You do have a shutdown command for the sfr hw and sw module shut down.
Please refer "shut down the module" section in below document
http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/security/asa/asa93/configuration/firewall/asa-firewall-cli/modules-sfr.html#pgfId-1486644

Thank you, how can I power on the SFR without restarting ASA?
Example: I will shutdown the SFR and after sometime I would like to turn on the SFR. How can I do that?

The sfr module is a software module on all ASA models (except the 5585-X). You can initialize it independently of the ASA in which it resides. See the command reference for the various relevant commands (sw-module module sfr reload, reset, shutdown etc.)
